Frequently Asked Questions

1. Can I practice womb massage when I’m menstruating?
Self-womb massage should not be practiced during menstruation to honor the downward movement happening in the womb during this time.

2. What are the best oils to use for self-womb massage?
Popular oils to use for self-oil massage include sesame (hydrating, grounding, and promotes balance in the seasons of fall and winter), coconut oil (cooling and promotes balance in the season of summer), and mustard seed oil (stimulating and good for the transition from winter to spring - warning, it smells very strongly!). If you have another food-grade oil that you enjoy, you can try that too.

3. Can I use castor oil for the self-womb massage?
Absolutely! But be warned that castor oil is much thicker and may not provide the same gliding feeling as the oils listed above. We love using castor oil in castor oil packs to soothe pain, inflammation, and support regeneration. Read more about castor oil packs and their benefits here
